So, I got up at about 7:30 this morning (mostly due to the Coldyness of Doom, which meant that lying down == not breathing), and thought 'oh good, I'll have plenty of time to tidy my room and do some work'.

Have I done either of those things? Of course not.

And now I suspect I'm about to start running out of time to do things, because I still haven't managed to extract myself from the computer. Grrr.

Shall I bring a crow bar when I come to visit, for prising you out of various bits of technology that you latch yourself into?

I think the idea of you bringing a crow bar with you is amusing enough that I have to say yes. I'm not entirely convinced of your ability to provide one, though :).

Carrying a crowbar is almost certainly illegal. Carrying *half a brick* is illegal. Putting stuff in your supermarket trolley is four-fifths of theft - if you so much as think about not paying for it, that's the other fifth.

I love our laws.

I wonder how illegal my bread-knife is.

It's probably not so bad - I think Offensive Weapons allows "good excuse or lawful reason" as a defence. Going equipped doesn't.

And this is why I get no work done. I suppose I ought to fix that.

Except I eat pitta bread, and hence have nothing I actually need a bread-knife for. (Actually, I do tend to use it to open the packets of bread, because it's nearby and it's amusing to stab a pathetic plastic packet with a foot-long knife.)

actually carrying a crow bar in public would be legal as long as it is in a plastic (or similar) bag and you can see the bag

thats how i transport swords and staves without the relevant licensing (its the same with bb guns etc)

at least i hope thats the case, its what i seemed to glean from the laws
