Ahh, the usual fun with transport.
Actually getting to the correct place wasn't a problem this time - the trouble was letting anyone know that I was there. The number that I had for Neil yielded an angry-sounding Welshman who informed me I had the wrong number before hanging up. I thought of calling my parents, but there was no point I decided because they were driving along and had no more idea what Neil's number actually was than I did. So I decided to just get to Newport station and use a payphone there to call Directory Enquiries. A few moments later, there was an announcement about how 'for the comfort and safety of passengers' mobile phones should be switched off, so I switched my phone off.
Thankfully Plan A worked, for once (Plan B = find an Internet Cafe and get the number off someone online; Plan C = phone my parents to see if they could do B; Plan D = phone the numbers I had for Sath and see if I could get someone who'd go online for me and do B). There's only one Roques family in Newport :-). When I got through to Neil I found out that he'd been trying to phone my mobile - which was obediently switched off in my bag. Anyway, he's on his way now.
