Okay, let's start with Friday.

Got a lift to the station - good, twas very rainy and windy, although I was a little worried 'cos I was worrying I'd cut it a bit fine on the time it'd take to get to the station. Then the train was late, predictably.

At Chelmsford station, again thought it was 9:08 'cos I could only see the '08' bit, then when I got closer it was suddenly 8:45 and not half as late as I thought. Unfortunately, because I ended up in Assembly, something I've managed to avoid for quite a while. So I was subjected to a strange and random advert for the staff panto, which I prolly won't get to see 'cos it's a tickets-and-evening event this time, and I haven't got a ticket yet. And they made me get excited by pretending it was going to be about chaos theory, wretched people!

Anyway, then we had General Studies which almost wasn't an disaster (because I'd done my homework eventually) but probably was anyway (because I'd forgotten the last question on the questiony section of the paper, and then I hadn't written my essay in The Proscribed Manner and hence prolly won't be getting, like, any marks for it - I'm very glad we have an exam-based system and not a continuous-assessment one, however unfair it is!).

At breaktime, I got caught by a Helena and dragged off to T3 for random computeryness. After getting shouted at by annoyingperson (rant about her due later) for having a miniscule bag which contains all my valuable stuff which would make a right mess if I tried to carry it without the bag near the precious computers (neither [livejournal.com profile] naath or I are quite sure in what way bags are lethal to computers, but that's another rant, and one I plan to save for when we finally get an ICT-prefect meeting), I insisted that we move to the library, where their 'no bags' policy is implemented sensibly (i.e. no, you can't have a massive great bag on the floor or on tablespace other ppl wanna use. if you have a small bag, or have it on your lap or under your own feet, that's your problem), because we had a free next and I didn't fancy spending the entire hour arguing with someone who appears entirely immune to reason.

Rediscovered the joys of randomly browsing Slashdot. Must dig out my login details from somewhere so I don't have to keep re-setting the options - I could have just registered a new account, but I don't like to take up space unnecessarily.

PE was good, of course, although at one point I swear I almost broke my arm trying to take the ball off someone (vicious basketball). How shocked would I have been even just a year ago at being able to completely truthfully and without even a hint of sarcasm (honest!) say 'PE was good, of course'?! Melody got herself out of PE with a note, although she did have to endure a lecture from the teacher about how exercise was good for her condition. And I still have a mental block on which one is Molyneux (prolly spelt wrong) and which one is Henderson, even tho they look entirely different, which is most embarrassing as teacher insists on making me try and say her name at registration, and I'm always terrified of getting the wrong one, and I'm really early on her register so quite often I have no cues, like this week.

Went to the common room after PE to start eating, 'cos I couldn't find anyone. Then Naath came along and stole me away to her formroom to complain about failing her driving test, but she suddenly realised she had Chamber Choir, and panicked lots 'cos apparently the music teacher is really evil and might throw her out for being late.

Melody made noises about going to the Wimpy ealier in the day, but when I found her sitting with Liz in the common room she'd contented herself with evil-glop-on-a-potato from the canteen, and sponge-cake-doused-with-maple-syrup which she gave me the top of 'cos she wasn't too keen on maple syrup. Yum. (I also never used to like maple syrup.) We then ran off to the Library again, which on relflection was a bit mean 'cos Naath had said she'd meet me in the common room, but I found her after registration (another free, aren't Fridays *useful* (note sarcasm)) in the library and she didn't seem too bothered.

Librarian had some lowerschool peeps wanting to use the computers and tried to chuck 6thformers off, and I felt a bit guilty about not coming off the computer given I was only browsing Slashdot and had some coding I could do on my Psion (is she Talia? is she Melis? I dunno what to call her!). So I gave the computer to Jessica, who was desperate to get a presentation done, after the fuss had died down, and coded some more. (I have yet another random project that'll prolly die off soon, a general-purpose formula-iterator type thingamy.)

Then we had Physics, during which I, uh, coded. (No Melody to distract in Physics.) I managed to be listening and answering questions at the same time, tho. At the end of Physics, I got handed this question sheet to be completed for the first day of the thingamy in London I'm going to. I did about half of straight off, looked up another quarter or so, marked a couple of questions 'this is maths, I can do this later', and gave up on the rest. (Chasing down obscure details about X-rays is not my idea of fun. Reminds me why I decided against a Physics degree in the end.)

Then I went home, and sat at the computer and failed to do anything, and then was informed of all the things I'd failed to do, and felt like a waste of oxygen for a bit.

You surprise me, anyway. So what changed?
