I am going to London for a course on something to do with SQL tomorrow morning, and not getting back until Wednesday. I am kind of vaguely packed. I utterly failed booking a taxi, so am hoping that my plan of ringing them at 7-ish to get a taxi to get me to the station for five past eight will work. I am kind of looking forwards to it, although I still feel ill and wretched so I haven't managed to wash my hair or that kind of thing that I meant to do before heading off.

My throat infection is basically cleared up, but I have an awful lot of Randomly Feeling Crap, which is irritating. It doesn't help that it's time for my period now too, which generally results in Randomly Feeling Crap. And Nicholas seems to have also got the illness which is going around and making people collapsy, which doesn't help.

Also, I am a Crap Friend and can't work out how to pack textbooks for [livejournal.com profile] apiphile even though there are several obvious solutions sitting on the shelf right next to me.

And I didn't get to go to Weapons Practice today due to feeling too tired to move (which was kind of good as it got spectacularly rained off, but it still meant I didn't get to froth with happy LARP people) and have been posting unnecesarily opinionated forum posts inbetween playing Morrowind.

In short: I suck, and I hope normal service will resume by Wednesday night when I get back from annoying my co-workers in London.

Am going to be driving down to Cornwall tomorrow morning so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

From personal experience:
  • Taxi Companies will take bookings all times of the day and the night
  • If you do want to book it tomorrow morning then doing so as the absolutely first thing after you get out of bed is the best bet

I'm familiar with a couple of training companies in London. Is this the variety where they provide you with expensive food? (An additional perk on a training course which is already giving you paid time off work, free transferrable skills, and shorter hours!)

SQL

Ah SQL. I spend a lot of time being an SQL minion at the moment. Sadly our SQL client doesn't imbbed the query language in a procedural langauge and we spend a lot of time going 'I want loops dammit!'. At some point I must find the time to learn how to connect Python to a database and just do everything in there.
