Today I almost didn't make it out of bed; I'd still only got about 8 hours sleep and that in two halves, so I wasn't very awake due to the massive sleep debt from the last two nights. But I did, and dragged myself into town, and went to lectures; then I spodded in town for a bit, and dragged myself back out to Chu for a quick lunch and then the WGB for a hardware practical, which I only just managed to finish in time. Then I wandered back to Chu and fell over. Managed to get into Hall in time to be fed some rather dodgy scampi, a couple of pieces of which were hopelessly undercooked, I noticed after having eaten most of it. I felt really sick coming back from Hall, but I think that was just from eating too quickly, as I feel a bit better now. I intend to go to sleep soon.

Yesterday I didn't get to my lecture; I got up in time to, but my clothes were still sitting in laundry bags mouldering, so I hung them up and started on Exercise 5 of the L&P stuff, which was quite entertaining as it was coding. Then I went into town to finally sort out the car thing with the proctors, who were really quite difficult to find, and had a large queue because most previous sessions had been at 6pm-7pm when most people are eating food...

Anyhow, with that sorted out I came home and looked at the ECAD lab, but it seems that this lab requires me to mostly fiddle with equipment, so there isn't much I could do to prepare other than copy out the corrections, which I did. Then I spodded a bit, but I got bored and went back to the ML program eventually, where I hit the problem of the syntax of my datatypes being really clear to program but a pain to test - so I'll have to write a converter from a decently formatted expression, probably in some other language.

Then there was Fusion, and baked potatoes and cheese (mm, cheeeese) and *lots* of Freshers - we had double usual numbers, and apparently more new people will come to the new cell on Monday. We did some stuff but I was too tired to take anything in, and so ended up with a massive inferiority complex because most of the freshers had been doing amazing stuff on Gap Years and even when they'd just got here. Nicholas volunteered to wash up, so I followed him and dried up. Except then I broke a bowl full of tuna mayo and started crying and whining about being useless at everything.

We got everything cleared up and put a 'warning, broken glass' sign on the door; we almost finished washing up, but missed a bit, which Penny insisted on doing when she wandered in to see how we were doing. Then there was sleep.

The day before, after lectures, I mostly did Teh Spod; eventually Nicholas showed up and made me do laundry. Then we had to run off to Hall, then Enemy, although I only got to stay for half an hour because I had to leave for Neil's surprise birthday party. Managed to run into the person who was meant to be waiting for me even though I was ten minutes early, and so managed to find the room in time for Neil to be really surprised that I'd made it.

Sat around with Ark people eating cake for a bit, but then I was full and tired and knew hardly anyone, and the Ark people had to go, so I also made my excuses and left. Then I went to 'see how Enemy was going', and didn't leave until 2am. It's fun being the party's cat, though.
