I was actually quite busy yesterday; up at 9:40 for a 9:50 DoS meeting, where I discovered that my DoS (Tim Harris) had once worked for
timwilson. Then I was meant to go and support the CU talk in the bar but didn't because I was too lazy, then lots of scrabbling through emails to find out who needed me the most at the Freshers' Fair in the afternoon. 2:30pm tutor appointment meant that I couldn't get there very early, but I did get a little piece of paper saying my tutor would give me permission to have a car in Cambridge, so that was okay.
Finally got to the Fair about 3:30pm, and was escorted upstairs in a convoy of people-working-on-stalls. Just about managed to find my way upstairs to the Poohsoc stall, and after a while of Katie and I both being there and not many people coming over, I decided to take some flyers and a sign-up sheet and go hijack the CURS stall which was in the main hall downstairs. This way I merrily ran Poohsoc out of fliers and got maybe a dozen signups. Most entertainingly, I got to watch the whole spectrum of funny looks and incredulous laughter, with the CURS stall, the Poohsoc fliers, the Navy across from us and the tree-hugging hippies next door. Had to man the actual Poohsoc stall from 5-6pm, which was also quite entertaining as people talked about everything from the Rejuvination Society to the manuscripts kept at Trinity.
Eventually I ended up promoting CURS at the CURS stall because Poohsoc was out of fliers. Apparently we were attempting to 'get the chicks', so we will have lots of girls turning up to the squash only to run away screaming on first contact with a) a d20, b) the Cambridge University Munchkin Society.
After the fair I wandered around looking for people, and eventually Nicholas rang me and said he was being dragged off to the Castle by people. I duely trailed after them and ate food, and then decided that I had been surrounded by people for far too long and was going home.
Naturally, then I overslept and then I over-spodded, and then I missed the Vitally Important Meeting About Supervisions, because I am just that useless. Aagh.
