Been reading the BBC's summary of manifestos, and despairing quietly.

There are several parties standing as 'Chrisitan' parties. Are they campaigning for social justice, redistribution of wealth, peace and co-operation? No - they're mostly 'pro-life' (to the point of being anti-euthanasia - and even anti-abortion stances have no place in government because they Really Don't Work - and also with the trying to ban various avenues of research), one of them is 'campaigning for the Christian faith to be included in the preamble of the proposed EU constitution', taking away the right of children to keep some things secret from their parents and anti-gay-marriage. You know, the most pressing issues of the day.

'Operation Christian Vote' particularly makes me want to smash things. It sounds like it started as such a good idea - a campaign to make sure Christians were registered to vote, like many other groups have - and then grew into one of the worst examples of a 'Christian' political party I've seen.

Maybe I'm just overheated. Also, I should get dressed and wander off.

Hmmm, I'm unsure UKIP, Respect or the conservatives. I don't *like* the conservatives, but they are much more likely to *win*, and I really *hate* the European constitution.

And the FUCKING CHRISTIANS SHOULD GET THE STICKY MITS OF THE (stupid) CONSTITUTION! Gah horrid horrid party of horrid. Must go vote for not-them. Religeon has NO PLACE in the government of anywhere. Stupid stupid stupid people.

They appear to have no policies, just being 'anti' things.

Um, the European elections are done with proportional representation, so winning's less of an issue.

What's in the European constitution that you hate so?

I think the bit about the Christian faith in the constitution was just to do with acknowledging the Christian history of Europe. Like so much of politics, it's a non-issue that has a lot of people het up.

I hate the very idea of a European government, making that government stronger is not a good idea (allthough the constitution is infact a load of wooly crap).
