chess: (happy-wistful)
Last exam over. Went *much* better than I was expecting - got four full answers and a couple of half-answers out. Was writing right up to the end and probably still lost a few marks on one of the fragments due to having forgotten that it's u dv/dx + v du/dx, not u dv/dx * v du/dx. Doh.

(from [livejournal.com profile] firinel)
a - accent: I have no idea what my accent is. My voice sounds entirely different to the way I think it sounds (or at least, my recorded voice does), so it's hard to tell. I have been accused of being Australian, I slip into the missing-letters-out Essex-ness quite a bit, and recorded I have a weird kind of slow drawl which I absolutely hate.

b - breast size: 36C. Except probably not any more; when I lost weight I probably went down a cup size, but still wear my old bras because they're expensive, a pain to get hold of and not quite worn out yet (I can't stand so much as a seam across the cup, y'see, let alone underwiring or lacy bits or material that's less than absolutely smooth, making it really quite difficult to find bras I'll wear).

c - chore you hate: I hate most things involved with cleaning things. This is because things then immediately get dirty again, and the cycle just repeats, making it feel like a wasted effort. That said, I don't mind washing up and tidying anywhere near as much as showering and washing clothes, because of the effort / visible improvement in cleanness ratios.

d - dad's name: Paul. He dislikes his middle name, so I shan't share it. Also, there are too many people in our church and in our family and generally who we know called Paul.

e - essential make up item: I wear absolutely no make-up, not because I don't like wearing make-up, but because I can never be bothered and am hopeless at putting it on. Currently, my essential make-up item is A Sponge, because it's the most reasonable way to put much makeup on to change colour for LARP.

f - favorite perfume/oil scent: My mother once had a perfume which was very sweet and fruity - like flowers *ought* to smell, like candy. I liked that, but I can't remember what it was called. I like perfume which makes me smell like confectionary. My shower gel is Coconut Milk and Honey, because it smells like egg custard.

g - gold or silver: Silver. Gold goes best with red, which I don't like, whereas silver goes best with blue, which I do like. Gold also reminds me too much of yellow, which I'm fairly ambivalent towards, whereas silver is just shiny.

h - hometown: This is an interesting question; my automatic answer is Braintree, but I've never actually lived there (just in surrounding villages), and Cambridge is where I feel most at ease. But I still know the layout of Braintree and the surrounding area far better than that of Cambridge, which probably counts for something.

i - insomnia?: Lately, I haven't suffered from insomnia much at all, due to being properly tired out when trying to sleep. I do take ages to actually get to sleep in the first place, but 'ages' is normally not longer than a couple of hours, so I don't count it as insomnia. Mostly I tend to insomnia when I'm ill or otherwise uncomfortable and I've been having enough sleep.

j - job title: My automatic response to that is 'Kid' - it ought to be 'Student', but forget it, I'm not grown up enough even for that title yet.

k - kids: Flame-grilled or roasted? Actually, I do have some kind of hopeless latent maternal instinct which makes me occasionally think I can work with children, until I actually meet some and have to talk to them, and their incessant *stupidity* (not to mention the sheer dullness of conversing with them) makes me want to strangle them again. There are exceptions, but not many.

l - living arrangements: I have a very nice little room here which unfortunately the college wish to kick me out of over the summer (probably earlier than I can actually manage to leave, given that my Tutor *still* hasn't given back my Going-Down Form even though I needed to hand it in yesterday - I suspect she might have handed it in herself and not told me...), and there is space in a house in Black Notley for me, but no reliable internet connection, which means I'd rather not be there.

m - mother's birthplace: I don't actually know. 'In Essex' is the best I can do. I know she used to live in Ongar, but it doesn't have a hospital.

n - number of people you've fallen in love with: I do not fall in love lightly or easily. Maybe two, depending how you're counting. The number of people I have fallen in lust with is somewhat higher, but still probably less than five.

o - overnight hospital stays: None. Um, possibly one or two when I was born.

p - phobia: I don't think I have any *phobias*, in the sense of consistant, unreasoning fears. I have a perfectly rational fear of dogs which has been known to border on a phobia by making me react counterproductively, and an occasional unreasoning fear of people.

q - quote you like: I don't really do quotes, in a 'pick a random quote you like' sense.

r - religious affiliation: Christian. Of all the subsidary labels, 'charismatic' probably comes closest, although I manage to disagree with most of them, too.

s - siblings: Never had any. Honest. You can't prove a thing.

t - time you wake up: I still maintain that my natural waking time is 7am. I consistantly wake up by 8am even if I subsequantly fall straight back asleep, unless I've really tired myself out / not gone to sleep until 4am.

u - unnatural hair colors you've worn: Pink, briefly, when someone got me with some spray dye at school.

v - vegetable you refuse to eat: Sprouts. Often broccoli (especially if undercooked). Low-quality peas. All of these actively make me feel sick.

w - worst habit: But how can I decide, when I have so many to choose from? Chronic laziness has most of them covered.

x - x-rays you've had: Teeth.

y - yummy foods you make: Banana and chocolate spread wraps. Philadelphia and salmon wraps. Nice stuff in bread, basically - it's quick, it doesn't make any mess because wraps are non-crumbly bread, and it can be carried around if I have to run off somewhere. And it's actually tasty too, unlike the pitta bread sandwiches I used to make (because Sainsburies make really dire pitta bread).

z - zodiac sign: The Small Boring Group of Faint Stars.

But if your last exam is over you should be in the pub!

cr212 used to have a line in his sig that said "Time until final: T-3 days". I asked him about it, and he mentioned that it was the positive integer "3" concatenated with the string "...final: T-". I said, "But then on the day of your final it'll be T-0, and after that it'll be T--1..." He said, "I think I'll change it as soon as my exams are over." But I expect most people go straight to the pub.
