chess: (the fire in her eyes masked the fear)
Some advice needed, please:

1) My school want to give me a book, worth up to £15. Any suggestions?
2) It appears I'm getting a coach from Cambridge to the CICCU houseparty. The current plan is to drive up and park in the carpark on Gonville Place, due to the likelyhood of destroying my luggage if I have to walk much further to the pick-up in Silver Street. Does anybody have better ideas? (I need to leave the car between the morning of the 6th and the evening of the 9th.)

(Am still ill. ADSL still erratic.)

I got the Science Price 4 years in a row at my high school and they alwase wanted to give me a book so i alwase found the most horific alien sci-fi, or warwolf/vampier book to use. And yes it was a chruch school. And yes my mother dissapproved. ;-)

When i recived it the Head Master asked to have a look so i showed him the picture of the warewolf attack victime and he wasnt best pleased and never asked to see my books again ;-)

Go for something you want what ever it is but something to shock and disgust would be my advice ;-)

Good Luck

Will the school let you 'top up' with extra money? Some of the better choices may be quite expensive.

They gave us vouchers... much more usefull.

Any text books of usefullness? A copy of RH&B is allways kinda usefull if nothing else springs to mind.

And Dragonology is a book of shinyness and is allso guaranteed to look silly (which is half the idea I feel...)

K&R was one of my choices for a prize once, which seemed to be one of my better picks.

CLR's Introduction to Algorithms. Great book...

If you ask nicely, will they give you vouchers?

Failing that, the Wordsworth collection of McGonnagal's poems (I think that's the right spelling). They're really, really bad, but old enough to count as classics. I'm sure you don't need me to point out possible uses.
