This would be a post soley for the purpose of pointing out tienelle, whom some of you may wish to poke to actually use his LJ.

I could make vague gossipy noises at this point, but I won't, because gossip is bad. Still, I'm sure the people I'm referring to know who they are.

Anyway. If I disappear now, I might actually manage to get some sleep before midnight. G'night, everyone.

(Oh, and I really need some new LJ icons. I don't like these ones any more.)

Offhand, I'd say you weren't technically asleep at 12:30. That said, you were asleep for all practical purposes, so I'll let you off.

Subsequent to the post, I spent until about eleven minutes past midnight talking to people via GAIM, so in fact I failed in general. I managed to avoid having any coherant dreams though, which was the purpose of not sleeping immediately / reading Lafferty before bed, so it wasn't too bad.

I just had a strange John Wyndham-like apocalyptic dream/nightmare in which somebody from another star system had decided that mankind was better off without reactors and was therefore going to destroy them all (and I knew this because I'd once met him in a bar so he sent me a message about it first). For some reason I was in Reading watching the missiles fall, wondering how I was going to get back to Cambridge.

Yes, normally my dreams are cool like that, but currently I don't trust my subconscious.
