I know I've asked this before, but does anyone have any recommendations as to how to display half a ton of photos? (Preferably, I want a thumbnail page with short captions, and then longer captions on the actual photo page.) Hint: Assume I'm illiterate in the relevant weblanguage, beyond basic HTML. (The problem last time was that people pointed me to things that worked for them, but I had no clue as to how to make them work, and hence I got discouraged. I'm asking for this to be lazy; if I have to hack something around, I'd rather just hand-code the thumbnail pages and give up on the longer-caption thing.) I've become interested in putting my XF02/DWCon02 pics up properly, and would like to actually get it done this time.

jarel and I have used album (http://marginalhacks.com/Hacks/album/) for our, er, albums. I hacked mine about a bit, but you don't have to. I was also working on an editing program for captions for it, you could be a beta tester for that if you prod me to package it up, but the alternative is just writing them in a set of text files so I don't know how much more helpful that is.

vento has been using Web album generator (http://www.ornj.net/software/webalbum/index.html), which is a Windows program that might be easier to use, but I don't know any more about it.

I use Gallery, which is quite nice, and fairly simple to set up.
