Didn't go to the player event.
Feeling a lot better now.
Obligatory comment on election outcomes:
1) If the LDs can get anyone to absolutely, definitely provide STV in multi-member constituencies without any kickers that will make it go horribly wrong, they should grab it with both hands
2) I'm a bit dubious about the idea of a PR referendum because of that old standby, The Conservatives Have More Money Than Us
3) Otherwise, I think the least worst thing that can be done is a minority Conservative government.
If some kind of fixed-term parliament deal can be squeezed out of that, all the better. It would provide time to regroup financially and physically from the last campaign rather than being plunged into the next election whenever the Conservatives think it's best.
It might even (hopeless optimism mode engaged) give the country time to realise they don't actually like the idea of a Conservative government and deliver the next hung parliament with a Labour plurality under someone who still feels desperate enough to lay out the PR red carpet but isn't as media-toxic as Brown.
4) Still convinced that a 'Rainbow Coalition', if it tries to do anything other than 'deal with electoral reform and immediately dissolve', will bring about hideous ruin for everyone involved due to the reality / manifesto gap in financials.
And if we can get a rainbow coalition behind just electoral reform, it's perfectly compatible with a Conservative minority government... heck, some of the Conservatives might well vote for it, at least one seems to have been speaking in favour. One without any Conservative support is pretty much doomed to failure, as persuading every Labour MP to vote for their own de-safe-seating is deeply unlikely.
Have sent significantly less rambly and personal summaries into the ether directed at people who might actually get to have a say on the matter and have registered their interest in individual party members' views.

Still approximately zero enthusiasm for playing A&A next weekend, but given it's mostly about my character's wedding I guess I need to put together some dresses and show up, for the benefit of everyone else if nothing else.
