May. 13th, 2001 11:30 amHmm, random survey thing. *Long* random survey thing. Maybe I'll fill out about half of it, as I'm feeling ill and tired and bored again.
I see: Pink text on black, and black text on pink...
I need: Food, water, air, and God.
I find: that my mind gets very blank indeed when I feel ill and drowsy.
I want: to be awake again.
I have: my computae! *hugs Kastaka, strokes Aivas, and gazes towards her room where Taila is hiding*
I love: myself, God, and the beautiful world He's created.
I hate: feeling ill
I miss: Neil! Where are you when I want to play StarCraft? Aren't there any computers in California?
I fear: Myself.
I feel: kind of blank and kind of happy and kind of sleepy
I hear: the comforting hum of Kastaka and the tapping of my fingers on the keyboard
I smell: a faint reminder of the hot-cross-buns I ate for breakfast
I crave: nothing really
I search: for distractions
I wonder: why I'm wasting my time on this when I actually feel quite a lot better today
I regret: dropping my Psion and messing up the battery compartment so it's difficult to open and close now!
When was the last time you...
Smiled?: Just now
Laughed?: Whilst reading email from the XF list - 'The Mathmatical Theory of Big Game Hunting'
Cried?: Yesterday, kind of, 'cos of the pain
Bought something?: Uh... oh, it was that chocolate chip muffin I bought from the school canteen I guess.
Danced?: A couple of days ago, just randomly around the house.
Were sarcastic?: Not more than a couple of hours ago, I'm routinely sarcastic to my mother, she seems to enjoy it.
Kissed someone?: This morning, my mother again.
Talked to an ex?: I think it must be almost a week now, I haven't been online as much this past week... at least three days ago.
Watched your favorite movie?: Yesterday! I wasn't sure it was still my favourite until I watched it again, but Tron definately still rocks!
Had a nightmare?: In last night's dream I got shot at by someone meant to be Neil's mother, tortured by the Zerg with acidic stuff, and narrowly avoided being mixed up in witchcraft - I think this qualifies as a nightmare...
Last book you read?: 'Metamorphises', by Ovid. (Not by choice - revision ickyness. Didn't read the whole thing - the last whole book I finished was 'Forever Peace' by Joe Haldeman.)
Last movie you saw: Tron!
Last song you heard: I really don't remember. I know that I didn't listen to music Saturday, I don't think anyway, and I know lots of the stuff playing in the car on the way home on Friday, but I'm sure that we finished the CD we'd been listening to and started the next one and I can't remember what that next one was.
Last thing you had to drink: A glass of water - what else?
Last time you showered: The last time I *showered* was probably on XF. I don't get on with showers. Baths are much friendlier to long hair.
Last thing you ate: Toasted hot cross buns, for breakfast. Mmmm.
Do you...
Smoke?: Only when set on fire.
Do drugs?: Only sugar.
Have sex?: No.
Sleep with stuffed animals?: Not any more... I do however still have some stuffed animals, and I used to have tons (quite possibly literally).
Live in the moment?: Of course. I am alive, and this is a moment. Therefore, I obviously live in the moment, as does everyone. Silly question.
Have a boyfriend/girlfriend?: Not at the moment, thankfully.
Have a dream that keeps coming back?: Not atm - I used to have a couple, but that was right back when I was a littlekid. I can still remember two quite well, tho.
Play an instrument?: No. I have no sense of rhythm, am tone-deaf, and can't even sing well. I once attempted to learn to play the keyboards, but after almost destroying a rather expensive keyboard during a lesson it was decided I probably wasn't going to learn.
Believe there is life on other planets?: I have no idea. I would say 'probably not' insofar as this galaxy is concerned because the odds are just so staggering against it, but with it being a possible condition if there's enough stars out there there quite possibly might be.
Remember your first love?: I can remember several that I thought were at the time.
Still love him/her?: No. Still friends (I think) with one, never really knew one, completely lost contact with one...
Read the newspaper?: We don't really get any newspapers except the free local ones. I read the headlines of any I come across, mainly for amusement value.
Have any gay, lesbian or bisexual friends?: Yes. (Hi, Naath.)
Believe in miracles?: Yup.
Believe it's possible to remain faithful forever?: The words 'forever' and 'never' should both be used with excessive amounts of caution. As Jenny said, people tend to die first, anyway.
Consider yourself tolerant of others?: Not particularly. I try to be, and I generally accept that people are just people and I'm a person too and so just as bad as them if in other ways, but that doesn't make me overly tolerant of either them *or* myself. I guess it depends how you define 'tolerant' (asking for definitions is always a good way out of answering anything).
Consider love a mistake?: Define 'love'. (see above)
Like the taste of alcohol?: No, not even in desserts.
Have a favorite candy?: Not really, althought chocolate rates pretty highly, and just plain sugar is severely underrated by most people imo...
Believe in astrology?: No.
Believe in magic?: Yes. It exists, and it's *very* scary and evil. Have anything to do with magic if I can help it? No.
Believe in God?: Yes!
Pray?: Yes, although probably not as much as I ought... (ought as in 'things go better when I pray for them' not as in 'I ought to pray such and such number of times a day and don't')
Go to Church?: When I'm not feeling ill, yes. (And I consider the type of people who tell you you're a horrible, horrible monster for any religious reason to be horrible, horrible monsters... maybe you're a person who would concern me because you'll harm yourself and others, but that doesn't stop you being a person...)
Have any secrets?: Yes. Most of them are other people's.
Have any pets?: Do several hundred fire-lizards and a sentient lioness-sized feline count? Thought not. I like the thought of having a cat, but not the work it entails feeding and looking after the wretched thing.
Do well in school?: Yup.
Go to or plan to go to college?: Well, not precisely. I plan to go to my school's 6th-form and then to university, neither of which is precisely 'college'.
Have a major?: I'm not American and I don't own any military personnel.
Talk to strangers who instant message you?: Always. Sometimes the conversations are rather uninteresting, but it's always amusing to see how an idiot reacts when threatened with being ripped apart by talons for trying to flirt with me...
Wear hats?: Every now and then, when it's cold. I get a headache if I go out walking in a really cold wind without a hat on, despite the thickness of my hair.
Have any piercings?: No.
Have any tattoos?: No.
Hate yourself?: No. Hating things just takes up *far* too much energy, and hating yourself is entirely counterproductive. See above, under 'I love:'.
Have an obsession?: Several.
Have a secret crush?: Not any more.
Do they know yet?: I think they found out, back when I thought it was as uncomplicated as a crush.
Collect anything?: Yes. Am I going to say what? No.
Have a best friend?: I'll say no, because I'd rather not start any fights. Let's just settle for 'several'.
Wish on stars?: No, not that I've ever seen a shooting star.
Like your handwriting?: Well, *I* can read it. It's just a shame no-one else can.
Have any bad habits?: Yes.
Care about looks?: More than I like to admit.
Boy/girlfreind's looks?: I'm taking this question to mean 'would they matter', and the answer is probably as above.
Believe in witches?: Well, yes. There are quite a lot of them around, especially online it seems. I'd rather there weren't, but that doesn't stop them from existing.
Believe in Satan?: Yes.
Believe in ghosts?: Not really. There are a whole slew of phenomena that are filed under the term 'ghosts'. I know that some people are convinced that they have seen/heard/felt/sensed ghosts, and I also know that human senses are fairly easy to fool. But I don't have any solid evidence to judge the issue on: the whole nature of the issue precludes collection of such evidence against, and I haven't found anything conclusive for. It all depends what you call 'ghosts', really.
Ooh, finished. That didn't take as long as I thought it would. I like survey-things... I guess I just like answering questions, because I'm not very good of thinking of things to say without a question to answer. That's why I prefer exam papers with lots of small questions to those with a few large ones, and why I really hate science questions that ask one question and leave a massive space for you to write stuff about that subject - I never know what the examiner is trying to get at, and I almost always go off at a different tangent entirely which while still answering the question doesn't show what the question was meant to show of what I know and therefore doesn't earn marks. Grr.
