Oh, and yes I know I'm a selfish and arrogent little piece of excrement for not being overjoyed at getting an offer from Cambridge even if it is going to make my life a misery for the next six months. Just thought I'd point this out before anyone else did.

I wouldn't think that about you, I have seen the effect of STEP on decent hardworking geeks.. I know how scary it is. I fear STEP, I wouldn't touch it with an infinitely long poking device. And I don't think you're selfish or arrogant, at least not for this ;)
