Whee for NaNo ramblings :-)

Mm. My NaNoNovel is *so* not going to even pretend convincingly to be finished at 50k, never mind that it's the middle novel in a trilogy so it doesn't really have to end. One of the characters who's meant to be twenty is currently somewhere between the ages of five and eight. The character who I really need to get through the Academy for the plot to progress - heck, I need to get her through, her in command of a ship and the kid through - is determined to not be the nice, quiet, studious girl she was meant to be and go and get herself pregnant instead. And the lizard-people, who aren't meant to be main characters at all, keep insisting I write about them anyway.

Maybe I should just introduce lethal quantities of white bread. And some ninjas. That should do for any semblance of realism this 'novel' is hanging onto.

Hovering around 43K. With the likelyhood of writing enough in the next three days (I don't write NaNo at weekends) to finish it off, NaNo-wise. I think I actually am going to go edit it, though. There's *some* stuff that might turn into an adequate story, and it certainly beats bad Harry Potter fanfic, which is what I was writing before.
