<lj-cut="Dreamtype randomness, moderately long and spammy.">
Several days ago now, I had another version of the Mall Dream (getting stuck in a shopping mall as it closes for the night). This was interesting only in that it featured <lj site="livejournal.com" user="painispretty">, who persuaded me to try a sip of an alcoholic concoction which, according to what I'd seen when she was making it, consisted mostly of vodka, although what it tasted like was Baylies (or however you spell that), or at least like Baylies ice-cream. I was, hence, pleasently drunk for most of the dream (slightly light-headed, rather more fluttery than usual, slight warm tingly feeling, significantly more laid-back about everything), so it wasn't as scary as usual. Especially because it was a cheapo mall full of cheap jewellry shops, and its only scary feature were these huge wooden shutters that kept slamming down around us.
Another recent noteable dream featured me, my parents, and half of my LJ friends list (specifically I remember <lj site="livejournal.com" user="sagima">, <lj site="livejournal.com" user="naath"> and <lj site="livejournal.com" user="stipe"> were there). I was significantly younger (maybe 7 or 8), and the children of the 'originals' (which my parents were, and also stipe) were being tested to see if they were worth keeping. I failed (on the grounds of not being practical enough, and being too much like my mother who was only taken because they wanted my father in) and was taken off along with Sunny (adopted child of someone at church, 3yrs old) and a bunch of other kids, to this big canteen-type room. They told us that we had two days to become acclimatised to our new conditions, and that they suggested that we explore the 'dungeons'. The dungeons turned out to be Underground tunnels. Then there was a mealtime where we were fed burger and onion ring and chip shapes of this stuff that tasted like smokey bacon crisp-things, in very bright cyan and magenta shades. After the second day (lots of comforting of the other kids and stuff happened), we were released into the tunnels - the real ones, in the bodies of rats. Then we found out that we'd been inside a computer simulation, but because of a second wave of settlers of it who had threatened to destroy it if they weren't let in (<lj site="livejournal.com" user="sagima"> and <lj site="livejournal.com" user="naath"> were among these), called the Cascade, there wasn't enough processing capacity for all the children. I found out that Naath had only put a copy of herself in the system and set out to find the real Naath, but the dream ended there.
