I just realised that my last post had annoying shouty questions, so I'll repost it with nonshouty questions in a minute, and possibly behind a lj-cut tag.
I didn't mean that, if *you* wanted to make it private, that was wrong. Yes, it would be pretty stupid to say that you weren't allowed to make any part of your journal however private you want just because some nosy people wanted to see it.
However, what I meant was that you shouldn't be pressured by people saying that they *don't* want to read parts of your journal, into making it private - which is what it sounded like was happening. Just because some people don't want to read some bits of your journal, doesn't mean that you should remove the option for others to read it if you originally wanted them to be able to - in that case, it's the people who don't want to read it that have a problem, not you.
In conclusion then - it *is* your choice who can read your journal, and it seemed like someone else was trying to take that choice away from you and convince you that you should make it private even though you didn't particularly want to, which is what I thought was wrong.
