Ticket messiness today...

Firstly, the train was *way* late. Well, it arrived about 15mins late at Cressing - then it sat around for another 15mins or so at Witham, and therefore got into Chelmsford at about 9am. And that's when I discovered I had no ticket and no money. I related the sorry tale to the penalty-ticket-issuer, who gave me a ticket I could pay later for, but it's £10 - £6 more than if I'd had the money. £10 is absolutely nothing to me atm, but I still feel I oughta be annoyed by it 'cos it oughta matter. I think I'll just write it off as 'the cost of stupidity' tho. It's all 'cos I changed bags over this morning and forgot to change everything I needed over. Anyway, the guy wrote out the ticket, apologising and complaining about his job as he went, and at about 9:10 I was released to go instantaneously transport myself to school. Twas only Physics first tho and I didn't miss anything vital in the ten or so minutes I was late by. Miraculously I had all my h/w too - did it in various other Physics lessons. (Met Gargi on the way in, she asked how I was, I said 'I'm okay, but my morning's been lousy'.)

On the way back, got into the station - the board (well, tv) for platform two had the 'next' train, to Ipswich, up. This happens quite often when the Braintree line is a bit behind on the day, so I didn't worry then. Then I saw that on the other tv that has the list on, my train was just going to Witham again - the next one was scheduled right through to Braintree so I suspect they were turning it round to make sure the 17:07 that tons of ppl get was on time. Twasn't actually a bad thing really tho, 'cos mum picked me up at Witham so no extra hassle for me, and I only had to pay £3 for the ticket - I'd borrowed the £4 I would have needed from Kelly, and she gave me one of her shiny pound coins 'cos she only had three nonshiny ones, so now I can give her the shiny one back.
