Today felt slightly less pointless. Less pointless is a Good Thing.

The weekend went by, that's about the best I can say for it. (Okay, some stuff happened - well, nothing happened on Saturday except me forgetting to do stuff, then Saturday night I had a really horrid nightmare that I do have written down but don't really wanna type up, then Sunday morning I felt really down until I went to church and the first few songs I felt really down and blank through and was singing this other song that was more what I was feeling (key lyrics 'Do not... let my enemies triumph over me... surround me, defend me, oh how I need You') and then when the kiddies had gone out that was the first song they had, so I felt a lot better then, but then I messed up again on forgetting-to-do-stuff and got rather upset, but I'm okay now). Phew, that was a long aside about the weekend!

Anyway, first lesson today was Physics which was again covering old ground and stuff but it was with Mr Fradley who went at a fairly quick pace (or maybe I was just less impatient today) and not all of it's in the textbook although I do know it all already. Then I had to go see Miss Gentilli, which consisted of waiting around outside her office for ages then taking thirty seconds (if that) to reassure her I was fine and could get back to my Pure Maths lesson (which was in the wrong room - 6 instead of 36, took me a while to work that out, thankfully someone had spotted Miss Bolton in Rm 6 otherwise I'd have had quite a search...) which was fairly interesting. Then we had Mechanics where I managed to get told off for trying to do my Pure homework (grr) but still finished the homework in the lesson, so had enough to do. (Oh, there was homework for Physics, but as it was basically 'copy out this section from the book' I don't think it's a worthwhile exercise, especially as he was exhorting us to 'take care of our own study habits' - well, mine is to read the textbook and not write a new one!) After lunch (which I managed to contain to a trip to the Beacon rather than right the way to a fast food place today) I had a free, which I spent trying to do the Pure homework (and failing due to rushing it) and instructing a random Y13 in how to use the school computers (how did she manage not to learn in a year?!). Last lesson was Economics, which was... well, random. Newspapers were handed out and 'economic' issues from them were discussed in a scattershot fashion, there were a few bits of basic theory that we took down as proper notes, and much decoration of faces on newspaper pictures occurred (by Sath, I hasten to add - the Tuvok makeover she did to one of the (female) models (wearing just about enough clothes) was absolutely hilarious, tho!). On the train home I randomly started coding a snake game in C, for no particular reason - getting even pseudographics to work on a Psion looks like it'll be, uh, interesting, tho.

Given I'm too lazy to look it up, is there a way to do something like the 'locate' command in Basic in C, and do you have to use any different, more basic output functions (like puts or putchar (or whatever that is)) with it or will printf do fine?
