Today I got my exam results, through the magic of the Internet, as I was too lazy and access-card-deprived to get them from actual lists. I got a 2.ii, as predicted.

At the moment I am mostly bemoaning my lack of Internets (getting Internets for the flat is being complicated, as the phone line is icky and crackly) and the amount of time and effort it takes to put things into boxes, move them, and take them out again (although so far it has mostly been other people's time and effort, so I shouldn't complain). Also, everything appears to become an urgent emergency as soon as I take my eye off it. For instance, flowers for the wedding aren't actually sorted out (neither of us, you understand, actually want flowers, but they seem to be expected, and we're already insisting there will be no real ones), my old postal address ceases to be valid tomorrow, and we are meant to have told our organist what we want for going-in and coming-out music by the end of next week.

On top of all this, one of the tendons in my right foot (which is especially irritating, being my accelerator foot) has decided that it dislikes me intently and would like to remind me of this whenever I use it, which is making me even less inclined to do anything. And it is too warm, and I am whiny.

I still have this lurking 'life has finished, everything worthwhile or enjoyable you'll ever do is over, and everything else is just trying to stay alive because everyone else seems to think it's a good idea' feeling, but, guess what? I am too incompetent and apathetic to do anything about it. There is also the 'approaching doom of not having considered everything that needs doing and having forgotten something vital' undertone, which isn't pleasent either. And I have missed May Week due to moving and the warm making me hermit and the lack of Internets and working feet making me hermit even more.

Congrats on results and good luck with wedding/moving stress :) Are you going to be living in Cambridge next (academic) year?

Congratulations, Michelle. A Cambridge 2.ii is nothing to be sneezed at. I also got a 2.ii, but that was from another university, and it was in 1983.
