chess: (holiday holiday holiday time!)
The day before yesterday, there was a BBQ at Oblivion. It started at 2pm, so I just about managed to drag myself there for 2:30pm. Not that I've managed to completely mess up my sleep patterns immediately on arrival in Cambridge or anything. It was mostly Echoes / Interlude types; we'd invited a Katy, but she got stolen by an Aunt, and hence didn't show. There was much Meat of Cheapness, quite a bit of sunlight, and some nice veggie stuff too. And tea on a BBQ, which was something [livejournal.com profile] edith_the_hutt was mandated to do for Poohsoc.

At one point Edith and Ewan conspired to attempt to throw a bucket of water over me (I forget why), so I retreated speedily to the computers, which were the area where I could count on being defended from water attacks. Edith attempted to remove me by the simple expedient of picking me up and carrying me, on which he found that I do indeed have claws and am not afraid to use them in self-defence. Not that I like making people bleed had anything to do with my enthusiastic defence... (although it was actually not that warm, despite being sunny, and I dislike being soaked when the nearest set of dry clothes is half an hour's walk away.

After a while we settled down to Interlude, which I decided to create Yet Another Character for; this time it was Territ, a Sidereal Tank in Starmetal Superheavy Plate with a Jade Grand Daiklave (unfortunately it's impossible to have them both in Starmetal, which I thought was quite unfair, especially as I'd gone Essence 2 to have enough bonus points). There were satisfying numbers of things for her to cut in half with it, and leading 2000 troops to their own demise was quite amusing too. Shame about the third circle demon, though.

We finished Interluding just after 2am, at which point I was far too tired to go back to Chu and feeling quite ill from eating too much cheap meat and having coldy doom. Tom ([livejournal.com profile] theinquisitor) poked at xfig until about 4am. I suspect I got to sleep about 6am, although 'sleep' is debatable as I woke up every hour or so to cough my lungs out. And then, at 11am, I recieved a phone call, chronicalled in the previous post...
