Some people tell me that I have a good voice (for singing, this is). Some people tell me I don't. I don't really know who to believe. Some of the people on both sides have a decent ear for music, and some don't; some of them like me, and some don't, and there seems to be no correlation at all. Personally, I have no idea, because I know that my hearing is definitely out of tune. So I'll keep singing, because I like singing. Sorry.

I started the day without much shouty doom, even when I suddenly had no hardware prac notes, and I got to talk to soem Girtonites whose names I now know (Aiden, Dave, and, uhm, someone I've forgotten, doh) but the hardware prac managed to reduce me to shouty doom because I couldn't understand how to work out voltages of things, and people weren't explaining in sufficiently monosyllabic words for me to have a hope of catching up with them, because they didn't realise quite how much I'd entirely forgotten. Then of course I got annoyed because I know when somebody is telling me something in a way I just won't get it or is telling me a bit I already know and try and hurry them on to something else, which never works but it should...

I proceeded to decide that I would never do my MMS project unless I did it *right then* and hence stayed in C4 until about 7:20pm when I realised I was about to miss the last bus back to college and it was freezing out there. So I didn't finish it, and it sucks anyway, and I scooped up all my stuff and ran out to get the bus and it pulled up just as I got to the bus stop and was about to lose all hope, after having kept myself going on the short walk there by detailing how much I sucked for staying in town this late, missing Hall, not drinking enough water, not getting the damn thing finished anyway, and also for punctuating said litany with some not particularly choice vocabularly beginning with the letter 'f'. Naturally, then I spent the way home thanking God for His providance and apologising for being angry.

Then I ate half a malt loaf and some fruit, and some chocolate so that at least I don't have evil-tasting stomach acid stuff burning my throat because my various medications dislike each other. I fail to apologise to anyone this has nauseated; my sympathy for squeamish people is not tremendous at the best of times.

And now I appear to have ended up on #assassins, which doesn't encourage my chances of getting an early night.

Hmmm

I havent herd you sing but i would like to ;-)

I like your voice it makes me feel calm and happy ;-)

Working out voltages of things in circuits with 2 powersupplys is not fun you either have to do simaltanious equations withch im sure you find easer then me or super-imposion-thearom or somethign liek that witch is easer or my fave witch is....

Use a multi meter...ok so its cheeting but its less maths ;-)

Also is #assassins an irc channel?

Take care ;-)

Have a nice evening and take care ;-)

I always preferred oscilloscopes to multi-meters, mostly because my circuits tended to be broken in ways which multi-meters didn't show.

Oooo yes thats true.

And when you get frequency in a dc circuit its not very good ;-)

You read the amplitude offof the sillyscope... of course you have to plug it in right first...

Are you an assassin? :)

Well it depends on what you meen?

Cos an assassin is a highly skilled killer who charges alot of money.

I do not kill people for money.

So no.

But i dont think Chess kills people for money either.

Could you explain what you meen?

And why arnt you playing?

Assassins is a game played at Cambridge University. Think of it as large scale 'tag', with hidden targets, and some toy guns for tagging with.

It's also a social circle.

Details about the game in general can be found here: http://www.srcf.ucam.org/assassins/

Senji probably didn't realise you aren't at Cambridge.

As for 'not playing'; it's commo practice to deny playing even if you are, and even if it's obvious that you are. It's an in-joke of sorts.

Cool cool thanks mate.

I think it must be a compliment for someone not to realise im not at cambridge ;-) ha ha ha ha

We played a game like that in first school but basicly it was the the person holding onto the last special construction block of mobolo was the target and if you were the one at the bottom of the pile still holding onto the peice of mobolo. plus or minus hair and bruises you won ;-)

LOL i know a few people that are blatantly playing then ;-)

And remember to calibrate the probes. And make sure all your earths are one. And hope that the tiny effect of the probes on the circuit won't change anything.

It's all right on a DC circuit: you can just throw a few capacitors in until it goes away. When you start picking up extra frequencies which shouldn't be there on some high-frequency circuit, you have more of a problem. Though it's fun to wave one's hands around and watch the noise change.

Your singing voice is rather variable, IME. Sometimes it's good, other times it isn't. I have some theories which might explain this, but they're all a bit random.

I, of course, am not playing this term.

I also note that there are only about 10 players left, this game.

Eeek! Electric Michelle, with the power of a thousand demonstrators!

I'm not much good for static unless it's really cold. I make a pretty good aerial, though.

You get lights? What were you meant to do with them? Other than light them with your hair-related super-powers, that is.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Fair enough. This sounds like fun.

What does the winner get? ANd what happens to the loosers?
