Mm. I could really do with doing some washing now, but that would require movement. It would also require finding something to carry the wretched stuff in and more than one pound coin. Surprisingly enough I have neither of these essential items.

Whoever said this place ran on 20ps was *lying* and should have mentioned the pound coins.

Also, I have now run out of bottled water, and need to either pretend the kitchen water is drinkable or carry large bottles of water around. Neither of these options sound good to me. I could also stop being stingy and buy bottled water in town, but a puny half a litre of water it costs more than a decent loaf of bread, dammit!

Can any Cambridgites recommend sources of free/near-free drinkable water accessible from reasonably near New Museums for me to drink from / fill up bottles at?

I'm happy (?) to say I drank nothing but coffee when in the New Museums site. But yes, buying bottled water is a bit of a waste of money if you ask me.

Might be worth getting a water filter?

Whats roung with the stuff in the taps?

Ive drunk some pretty foul water that didnt come from taps and it never did me any harm?

If it dosnt have a "non-drinking" water sign then its medically safe for you to drink id guess.

My mate drinks nout but bottled water it wastes his family sooo much money. But good luck cos what you want is most inportant ;-)

Take care

Is uni water vile too? Our uni cafeteria thing - where the lecturers eat has nice water in a fountain... and if you're going to uni every day and aren;t that far away you could bring home a litre each time;)

Some of the toilets in the Cockroft Building used to have "Drinking Water" taps. Don't know if they still do though.

The water in Churchill certainly used to be perfectly drinkable - I'm sure I always drank the water out of the cold tap on the sink in my room.

I guess I'd recommend a combo of cheap one of these and a small one of tthese (mainly because they're indestructable (I even ran one over with my old Buick) and they don't hold the taste/smell if you fill it with icky water.

Good luck, I really don't like icky water either.

I absolutely hate the water in my uni, but that's probably because I've gotten used to our lovely northern water. I went out and bought some cheapo bottled stuff from Asda which tastes okay.
