I have:

Every New Scientist from about April 2001, in reasonable condition (some are a little squished, but otherwise okay)
Random books:
Christian books (some children's fiction, some biographies)
Star Trek books (novels and encyclopediae)
Random books (Simarillion, Science Desk Reference, Encyclopedia of Philosophy, dictionaries (English, German, Latin))

and I don't know what to do with them. I feel like I ought to throw them out (or give the books away, I guess) but I feel kind of awkward throwing out the magazines - there's several cubic feet of them...

Ugh. I hate sorting out my junk. Anyone have any ideas as to what I should do with it?

(Also up for grabs are a DWCon02 programme, and other junk as I get around to throwing it out, if anybody else wants to collect good rat nesting material.)

Donate them to a library?

You could probably sell them online, and you could certainly donate them. Maybe a doctor's office or a surgery or something like that would want some magazines too.

Do you know if you have the New Scientist that [livejournal.com profile] marnanel's been quoted in?
If you dont have anything better to do with them ill have the star treak and other sci fi and science related ones if you want ;-)

I was going to say this anyway but having seen the other too posts i look greedy.

WHatrs you up to today?

The encyclopedia-type-things might come in useful at uni (even if it is just to hold down a wonky table, and quite possibly for their text). For the others, try ebay, maybe?

I'd like the NS which has the tinyurl thing in if it's going, but that's just me :)

I threw away several years' worth of New Scientists just recently too, along with a fair number of other old magazines. It did feel kind of odd to do, but I don't regret it or anything.

Sell on ebay... but give me the Star Trek ones first;)
Oh, and what ed. Silmarrilion? (I need one to read that isn't the nice one that I've got)

I figured out one of our differences recently: you love reading, I love books. The concept of throwing away books horrifies me, the concept of buying books horrifies you (I love buying books, I'm presently in an airport with nothing to do for several hours but wander the book stores ... and a credit card, arg! I can't fit them all in my luggage! ;-)

I'll take the simariallion (sp) off your hands. And the Star Trek Encyclodedia, and possibly the Christian books. I need more bookshelving ...
