I apologise in advance for the brevity and uselessness of this part; it's been boiling hot most of the day and hence I haven't been up to doing much at all, let alone actually remembering things. And it's Wednesday already. Ick.
Saturday Morning, Addendum
I forgot to mention that when we were doing the 'how long do we have to fight these Rovac for until the party turn up?' encounter, the character of a guy named Maffu was cut down by something that didn't actually kill them, and despite laying about their fallen body with a sword I didn't manage to kill them either, which I was quite put out about, because I assumed I'd managed it as I only stopped when I got bored. Apparently they'll find me someone else to hit while they're down next time ;-).
Saturday Afternoon; Staying out of the way of Balrogs
Styles always had one summonee around, but the person playing the first one got worn out and ran off claiming they were going to collapse and throw up, and so they had to be replaced. Despite appearing to be dead at one point, Styles did indeed win the battle, which nobody was particularly surprised by (most people were saying it was about time he'd got around to it), although it was still quite impressive even with all of the advantages of being a vampire. For her part, Tessaret did a lot of hiding behind certain wood elves and wondering if it wouldn't be sensible to move slightly further back and generally away from scary Balrogs, but not wanting to leave 'cover'.

This was probably about the time when we drifted out of character to talk about computers and message boards and suchlike, and somebody warned me that it was going to be utterly freezing by the end of monstering and hence being over-hot now was a very good idea, and I planned to go get a jumper but never got around to it and just grabbed the fur and velvet stuff I'd been wearing on the Friday night, although this time Absolutely No Chainmail. There was wandering and probably some chocolate, and the evening/night's party were called off to be briefed or just generally gotten out of the way, and finally we were all called into the 'tavern' room for the monster briefing.

Saturday Afternoon; Monster Briefing #2
The Saturday night adventure is a double-length one, and the monster briefing sheets were correspondingly more numerous, especially because it was a high-level adventure. TBH, I don't remember much of it; I got to be a lot of monsters that would have been reasonably hard against a lower-level party but were just so much fodder to these guys, and managed to get both joining-the-party roles, which I figured meant slightly less lying around being dead, without having to wear armour like the monsters that were expected to survive more than thirty seconds. The encounters got 'upgraded' several times as people complained that very little would touch the party; from one Uruk-Hai, two Black Orcs and some normal orcs, one encounter became four Uruk-Hai (that's how many of the correct shields we had...) and everyone else as Black Orcs.

Saturday Night Adventure, the Whistle-Stop Tour
The first couple of encounters got cut down pretty quickly; one got caught between two spellcasters and was flared backwards and forwards (flare causes 'knockback', which means you're meant to move away from the caster 10', except we were being pinballed between two casters...) a few times, which was amusing. The first encounter during which we really hurt any of the party was apparently the New And Improved Orc Encounter, Now With More Uruk-Hai; we almost got run over whilst getting into position for that one, by someone who screamed into the dirt car-park in a reasonably small car and threw it around to a stop, perfectly perpendicular to the fence, which we thought was quite nifty parking, if a little dangerous. The New and Improved Orc Encounter was an ambush, so we were all trying to hide, and someone got the wonderful job of being gagged and tied to the gate and trying to warn off the party while not being able to speak clearly; their one and only line (before being cut down by orcs) was 'It's a trap!'.

During our first encounter someone had landed in a bunch of young stinging nettles that got them through their trousers; I managed to find some of said nettles with my uninjured hand whilst dying as a Black Orc, which swiftly became injured, although not for long. (It had also acquired some blood on it, but nothing appeared to be bleeding, so I can only conclude that it was actually someone else's.) Oh, something else amusing - both the higher-level parties had someone going round casting 'discern wounds' on the fallen monsters (to make sure they weren't just playing dead, which I did a couple of times later and actually got some hits in for once), to which the presumably dead monsters would reply "Dead." This word was very useful if you were crouching on a piece of ground to avoid nettles, instead of being obviously dead. Later I realised that actually I was meant to come back as a skeleton after being cut down the first time then, which meant I might have found somewhere better to die, but it was too late by then.
