I appear to be incapable of productive effort and have two LARP events and a conference scheduled for November.
So clearly this means it should be the year I attempt to do NaNoWriMo again?
Additionally I have no ideas. Or rather, I have a small collection of woefully out of date ideas which date from when I was a teenager and actually wrote things and had ideas, but because I thought of them all when I was a teenager they are universally awful.
I hear some of you occasionally like reading my writing, so I figured I'd ask you what you wanted me to fail comprehensively to write this November.
If I don't get any entirely new inspiration from this exercise it's probably a toss-up between:
1) The awful rubbish about telepathic cats that bond with people (and one that gets left out because their village didn't have enough humans and discovers The Awful Truth Behind Their Peaceful Agarian Society or some nonsense)
2) The slightly more awesome cockroach-based version of that (where people have their brains hijacked by oversized cockroaches, split-time retelling of the original expedition and a much later time where this is considered perfectly normal, but I don't see how I can make an ending for it which isn't ridiculous or basically nonexistant, and both of these ideas scream Dragons Of Pern Ripoff Nonsense to me anyway).
3) An extended piece of Terrible LARP Fanfiction
4) The horrible confusing thought-experiment abomination which has been haunting me for slightly less time than options 1) and 2) involving serial reincarnation in layered worlds and possibly fields full of dead babies
5) Something from the Hideous Space Opera universe that my only successful NaNoNovel to date is set in (although I've now tried two iterations of this and both were flat and unsatsifying and everyone can see I've barely scraped the serial numbers off Star Trek anyway)
