When walking back from work yesterday, I realised why I used to keep a proper diary (as in a full record of anything even slightly noteworthy that I did). It's because otherwise I start remembering things that didn't happen. I have very vivid dreams and some of them are things that may very well have happened, and they don't get stored distinctly from memories. I can normally tell on closer examination if they are actual memories or not because dreams have a higher likelihood of contradictions, discontinuities, and missing supporting information, but it's still somewhat disconcerting.

(Last night I dreamed of running a LARP event for teenagers. The dream also featured a small white car making an impossible jump across a ravine with one of the other organisers reassuring me 'don't worry, it has a Marine in it', lots of 'very narrow road bridge over crack in the landscape' (which weren't driven over), a flying ship that ferried us from one end of the site to the other (very low so you could jump off), and a shared central facility with a computer room in. The server room of this computer room started making weird crackling and popping noises, and eventually someone gave in and opened the door to find that one of the servers (a 1U rackmount lying on a table with the case off, image lifted from Pinkstuff when it was lying around at XF) was burning with a shallow orange flame, and another one was growing a blue crystal outcropping. Also there was plenty of traditional 'are there at least two people, one male and one female, with the kids at all times' worrying, a cave with arches holding captured soul energy that people could recharge these little cards representing power at, and a sink in the computer room at which I had to do some washing up.)

Recently I have mostly been going to work and attempting to tidy up the TT Refwiki. More interesting things happened somewhat less recently now (I ran the 3YGB, the big end of year CUTT event, which everyone told me went somewhere between 'fine' and 'great', and we were complimented on being concerned that the monsters were having fun which is good because that's what I set out to achieve; I haven't even slightly written up the June Maelstrom event, which was okay but would have been rather better if I hadn't had a streaming cold all event which made it impossible to keep make-up on my nose and upper lip area and also made everything rather flat). Went to church on Sunday and concluded, as I always do, that I need to make it to church on Sunday mornings more often.

So, I actually came on here to whine about how the (calf muscle? the one at the back below the knee) on my left leg decided to go all 'I hate you and I want to spasm and hurt a lot' at 5am this morning and it still complains bitterly when I put any weight on that leg, and I need to walk to work Real Soon Now.
