Aug. 31st, 2005 12:12 pmI have decided that I need to start keeping a record of my life again, even though it is dull. I decided this because I discovered that on Monday afternoon I couldn't remember what I'd done with Saturday.
So. On Sunday I went to church, where I discovered that nobody cared about my terrible, terrible guilt over not getting Ark a soc fair stall (not that this guilt has actually motivated me to do anything about it) and managed to stay talking until everyone else had cleared off. Then I played Neverwinter Nights all afternoon, stopping briefly to build the terrain for Keshton and get bored and frustrated fussing about making outfits out of the armour pieces for my tailor's shop. Then I made comprehensive plans for my own RPG creator, which alas are foundering on the 'I am lousy at art and need a 3D engine I can just drop in, complete with a nifty set of clothable people models' problem.
On Monday I did much the same thing in the morning, and in the afternoon I went and had a stroll around the countryside with some nice old folk from Wesley Methodist Church, which is the church I'm currently attending. They were all very nice and we got to watch a houseboat, a sailboat and a motorboat all try and get through the lock at the same time. Then we went to one of their houses and they fed me nice food and made polite conversation. I think I might be losing it in my old age because I actually enjoyed the whole affair. It was sunny and the countryside was very pretty, and there was an excellent sunset over the waste ground north of Arbury on my way home.
Tuesday I was back at work, which was pretty awful because it was baking hot (it got up to 36.9degC at the other end of the office and it was only a few degrees cooler where I'm sitting). Almost died walking home (I had to walk home because I'd spent the last of my money on lunch; we'd just about managed to round up the 30p I needed to have £1.60 for lunch, but otherwise were out of cash - my credit card is currently Misplaced) but decided that I was going to Games Evening anyway. Games Evening was mildly entertaining, but still has that vague kind of unsatisfying air about it, because I would much prefer to sit around and talk to all of the nice interesting friendly people that it gathers than play games with them (which often get surprisingly serious and do generally seem to damp down social interaction more than they encourage it). It was very warm overnight and I was a right misery about it.
Nothing interesting has happened to me so far today, although I do now have a reasonable amount of money because we got cashback from Budgens last night while buying food.
