You must read this. I don't normally recommend Harry Potter fanfiction (other than my own :-) ), but this made me actually laugh out loud quite a lot, which is reasonably difficult.
Today I have mostly screwed things up. I managed to drive an awful lot worse than usual, I maintain that STEP III is impossible, and I keep being stupid and socially inept at people over instant-messengers. And I didn't go for a walk, and didn't do the dishes, and didn't have enough fruit, and didn't put stuff back in the fridge/freezer carefully enough.
On a more cheerful note, we went to Chartwell House yesterday. It was actually pretty good; I liked the paintings in the Studio, and there was a pretty decent exhibition about Winston Churchill's life at the end of the house. It was amazingly busy, though; there was a queue to get in by car, and they had to let cars into the coach park in the end because the bus couldn't get through because the queue was blocking the road up. We got practically the last set of tickets into the house. The grounds were decent, too; there were big spiky semi-cactus-like plants (big round stalks with thorny bits scattered around, and leaves with little spikes like sandpaper) and lots of pretty flowers. I stepped over a chain into the area behind the lake, and then went round to see how many other ways you could get in, and found a way down onto the croquet lawn (although I didn't walk on that because it looked like it was damageable), so that was fun. We also saw a small brown rodent of undecided type (guesses ranged from vole to dormouse through gerbil to hamster) which seemed very unafraid of all these people pointing and staring at it.
