May. 11th, 2003 09:05 amAt some point I need to write up the 6th Form Revue/Review. With special referance to the new version of Alice.
On Friday I passed my Driving Theory Test. I was pretty sure I'd failed after the questions bit, because there were 6 questions (count'em! Six!) I wasn't sure on, probably due to only ever having read the Highway Code once, about a year ago. But through the wonders of multiple choice, I only got three of those questions wrong, so I passed. (The 'hazard perception' thingamy that people are getting so worked up about is easy if you get a bit of practice using one of the CDs that are out there, and have played computer games. It's just like a shoot-em-up except instead of aliens, you have to click when hazards happen, or more like 'when anything new enters the screen', because the pattern-detector thing doesn't fire at that kind of behaviour.) The room was hot and stuffy and I almost fell asleep during the hazard perception test; I had to hold my head up with the hand that wasn't clicking the mouse. (It didn't help that it was the second day of my period, which is always the worst.)
This morning I was woken up early by my dad's phone running out of batteries. I can sleep through cement mixers working and trees being chansawed just outside my window, and people hammering down my door, but one electronic bleep halfway across the house (I thought it was my phone in my room, but no, it was his *all the way downstairs*) and *snap* instant awakeness. (Now you all know how to wake me up should you ever need to :-).) Hence I am now both awake and sleepy, and it's not even 9am.
