What's the most beautiful-sounding word you know?
Soliloquy. Nice flowing-river sound.

Tell us a joke? Or, if that's not a proper question, can I give you a hug? *Hugs and threatening gestures at the PMT fairy*
Three men walked into a bar. You'd think the last two would have learnt from the first one, wouldn't you?

Oh, and you can give me a hug any time you like.

what one question would you ask me if I were doing this?
I'm no good at thinking up questions for people; others who are doing this will have noticed they don't have any questions from me. Perhaps I'd ask you what the fuzzy bit around 'Rachel' means in your system-diagram.

What are, in your opinion, the five best things about you? (You are excused from modesty for this answer;) )
My intelligence. My faith. My pretty blue eyes. Carlie, my inner dancer. Callie, my inner child, who can still laugh and play in the fresh new world every day.

Will you clean my room for me?
No. I think your floor is probably toxic.

Why do you have "You can always email me if you're really bored." on *every* *page* of your website?
Because I don't have enough content on most of them, so that makes it look like I have more. Also because I started off liking the idea of thinking up a new way to say that on different pages, although I ended up copy-pasting. But by then it was too late 'cos it was no good having it on just some arbitary pages and I didn't want to go through and delete it everywhere.

If you could be an operating system, which operating system would you be, and why?
I am an operating system, it's called InsaneOS 1.7, and it's rather unstable. I'd like to be Mandrake Linux - slightly more geeky than the usual run of OS's, but still friendly and with pretty graphicy bits.

do you enjoy being menzies-like?
No. Being menzies-like depresses me slightly. But if I wasn't answering questions I'd only be writing more bad Harry Potter fanfic.

When will you be around on talker(s)?
When I've stopped being The Big Bad Grumpy-Monster. Probably Monday evening, although I might be feeling too dead on Monday.

Why?
There are only two good answers to this: 'Why not?' and 'Because.'. I prefer the latter because it can be shortened to ''Cos' which is only one syllable, essential for winning The Why Game from the non-starting side.

What question don't you want us to ask and what's the answer?
Anything that is about things other people have told me not to tell you about because it concerns them. And I would simply not answer - I merely told you to ask me a question, I didn't guarantee an answer - although I would give you reasons why not (which would boil down mostly to the above). Of course, telling you example questions may lead you to guessing the answers, which is also not permissable.

./~ and it's harder still climbing up to this hill without you clinging on ~\.

'Love makes the world go round - just one of the many things it has in common with severe concussion'. Quote from the Tom Holt book I'm reading (Falling Sideways).

No particular trigger to either of those things. The first one is from Shed Seven - The Heroes, which inhabits my soundtrack from time to time, and just decided to do so then; the second, I read this morning, and laughed aloud on the train drawing some funny looks.

/me draws funny looks on a convenient whiteboard in drywipe pen.

I'm in a rather random mood right now.

I have 72k of bad Harry Potter first-year new-char (I've *tried* not to make it self-insert, really I have!) non-slash (they're *first years*!) fic, and I don't really know what to do with it. So, it's polltime.

[Poll #61777]

I should have asked for extra stuff in comments so I could reply to it properly! Oh well, here's some more spam on behalf of my latest pollthing:

My website desperately needs a whole ton of stuff on it. Dumping some HP fanfic on it is not going to help anything in particular, and I'd have to link to it from LJ anyway to get anyone to read it, although some of you might find that less obtrusive.

There are several communities for HP fanfic. The ones that are not full of the under-twelves (not that I have anything against that age group in particular, but I didn't produce very coherent stories at that age and I don't expect them to either, and not being their parents I don't see I particularly want a duty to read their attempts) deal in slash pretty much exclusively.

I've been trying to write better things, but they all stall at about 3000 words or so whereas Kestra just keeps on growing.

(Okay, I think I've just about cleaned up for tonight's comments. Keep the questions coming too - you can have another one if I've answered yours :-). But I'm disappearing to get some sleep now.)
