1) If you could be instantly fluent in one other language that you currently do not read or speak, which would it be?
Uhm... which language is the original New Testament written in again? That one.
2) If you could have the starring role in any film already made, what would it be?
Not sure. I don't think I'd mind being Princess Leia, but I'm not sure she counts as 'starring' precisely. (Then again, I'm not sure Trinity counted either...) I could probably pull off being the female lead in My Big Fat Greek Wedding...
3) If you could receive one small package this very moment, who would it be from and what would be in it?
I dunno. Practically all of the things I want atm are intangible, rather than packagable. And mysterious packages from people I'd want mysterious packages from would make my parents worried about me handing out our address.
4) If you could own one painting from any collection in the world but were not able to sell it, which work of art would you select?
That Escher one with the lizards. I like that one.
5) If you were instantly able to play one musical instrument perfectly that you never have played before, what would it be?
I would say the harp, 'cos it's pretty. But I don't think I actually like harp music. I'd say the keyboards, because then you can play just about whatever music you like, but I have played those in the past. I suspect the electric guitar would be the most fun.
6) If you could possess one supernatural ability, what would it be?
Mm. I'd say some kind of empathy/telepathy, but I wouldn't know what to do with what I found out anyway. I feel I ought to have something that would help other people, but as I'm a lazy schmuck at heart I'll say telekinesis (including personal telekinesis, i.e. personal teleportation, as well).
7) If you had to choose the most valuable thing you ever learned, what would it be?
Presumably reading. (Yes, even talking would come second to that, I think, because you need other people to talk and I don't always have other people, whereas you can read on your own, and you need to read to use the Net efficiently and stuff.)
Then again, the most *valuable* thing I ever learnt is that God exists. The reading thing is just *useful*.
8) If you could have only one piece of furniture in your house, what would it be?
Mnh... can't I have two? I definately want my bed, although I did pretty well on the last one that wasn't really furniture, just two matresses on top of each other, so if I can cheat and have at least one proper matress without having furniture I'll chose my nice comfy purple computer chair instead, although then I won't have anything to put the computer on, but I do use it for sitting and reading in as well... ugh. I guess I'll just be unoriginal and say bed. If I didn't have any other furniture I'd use a laptop instead of a proper computer though because using a computer on the floor makes me ache a lot, whereas I can use a laptop sitting on the bed for longer before problems start.
9) If you could read the private diary of someone you know personally, whose diary would it be?
If I *could* read the private diary of anyone, I'm certain I would (sorry, but any of you who've let me at your computers/stuff for any length of time should know this by now); I'm forever being told off for being nosy (by teachers who will leave interesting-looking stuff lying around all the time...). But if anyone's diary is truly private and they don't want me to read it, then I'd rather they kept it out of temptation's reach... because I do read everything I can get my sticky little paws on, and I wouldn't know what to do with the information afterwards.
10) If you could have one person you know as your slave for one month, who would it be?
I never bid in slave auctions because I wouldn't know what to do with people. If I had a house of my own, though, I'd definately have Fin as a slave for a month, because then she could decorate it for me...
11) If you could choose the way you will die, how would you want it to happen?
Peacefully, painlessly, in my sleep; and preferably somehow without making anyone sad, because they all know I'll be going to a better place...
12) If you could wake up tomorrow to learn that the major newspaper headlines were about you, what would you want them to say?
Eep. Something like "WW3 Averted Due To Michelle"? Or "Thousands Turn To Christ Because of Michelle"? Something good happening because of me, anyway.
13) If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
Panic. (The second thing is 'feel guilty'. The third thing is 'be very surprised since I don't play the lottery'.)
14) If you could choose the music at your funeral, what would it be, and who would play it?
Gah. I have no idea. Something about 'I'm flattered that you liked me enough to be sad I'm gone, but I'd really rather I didn't cause anyone any distress, and remember that I'm okay now...'
15) If you could take away the vocal cords of any person, who would it be?
The problem is, the few people I'd want to do this to (certain world leaders, or probably more effectively their deputies, for instance) would just find a way round it fairly quickly, and probably look a whole lot better for it, so nobody, really.
16) If you had to describe your idea of the perfect mate, how would you do it?
With difficulty. (I set out to do this once; during the time when I was split, which made it a lot easier because each of us had a better idea of what we wanted, rather than before and now afterwards when it's all a jumble. I identified the characteristics I was after as: intelligent (Michelle), 'a little scary, but quite tolerant and will stop when I say' (Chessypig/Duenda), gentle (Wandering Star), slightly/rather feminine in appearence (long hair, smooth skin) (Kali), graceful (Carlie), playful (Chessypig/Callie). I also identified that there was a definite thing about deep eyes going on (not necessarily brown, but it helps), but I couldn't identify the personality-source of that. Some of these targets are contradictory (like Chessypig/Duenda's and Wandering Star's), which is probably what makes me so muddled about the whole issue.)
17) If you had to have a personal friend redecorate your house, who would you pick to do it?
Fin. No contest.
18) If you had to choose the worst home you've ever lived in, which one was it?
I've only ever lived in two. I suppose this one is slightly better.
19) If you could have prevented one thing from happening between you and a friend, what would it have been?
Uhm... well, there are two. Although I'm not sure I would have with one of them; I think I'm a different and possibly better (or at least better placed to understand people) for that one and it didn't hurt anyone too badly unlike the other one. But I'm not going to be anything other than impossibly cryptic about the whole thing.
20) If you could learn the total number of hours you have spent in your life doing one thing, what would it be?
Initially I thought 'I'm not that interested in anything' when I first saw this question but I think I might take
21) If you had to describe yourself as a child in one word, what would it be?
Precocious.
22) If you could own a single prop from any film ever made what would you choose?
They'd only clutter the place, so I'd ask for the leaf pin / cloak from LoTR and give them to Fin.
