I have played DiscMUD tho only briefly. But I'm not sure I get the cabbage referance.

Would I be correct in guessing that being "affectionate to a point of insanity" is very different from being "affectionate to the point of insanity"?

The third time you log on (is it third or second? never mind.) you get a cabbage following you around. The cabbage loves you. The cabbage thinks everyone is basically decent, especially charging trolls, and everything can be solved with a hug. The cabbage is sickeningly happy and bouncy. You can kill it and it dies with a blissful expression on its face from having served you. You can eat it and it gives you very bad wind, but that's incidental. I was filling in this quiz with my 'ooh, shiny' sparkly-kittens side (Callie, to put a name to her), and hence was the cabbage.

You know, I've suddenly decided I like cabbages. (But as metasyntatical variables, not for food).
