Gah, I've been using the school computers so much that I keep trying to use the scrolly-wheel on my wheel-less home mouse. Maybe I should get a wheely mouse.
Someone explain to me the point of a cordless mouse again? (My reasoning goes - you need a flat surface to use it on anyway, so you must be sat at a desk, so why bother with wireless?) But I think optical is definitely worth it.
I have a logitech cordless optical wheel mouse and it's utterly lovely. I use it in bed, on my matress (does setting up my computer where it is specificly so i can use it in bed make me a geek?)
you computer needn't be near your wireless device. my tower lives near my monitor as the monitor lead isn't very long but i try and sit as far from my monitor as i can thus cordless things are handy :)
Gah, I'm just in the process of setting up a wireless network... if I have a wireless mouse too, soon I won't have any pretty tangle of wires behind my computer!
I noticed the loss of the wheely-ball when I was on holiday using hotel computers, and it was mad. My finger kept on feeling for one. I think it's an addiction.
