Still feel ill, and was completely shattered in school today. It didn't help that they made us do icky PE - running around the field did for what was left of my energy. Then we had three lessons of tests - Chemistry, Biology, and Latin - which I usually like but just couldn't concentrate in 'cos I was *so* tired! And after all of that (oh, and playing Adder for an hour straight in History and still not getting a score over 121, grr) I went to town with Sath, Naath and Liz - which was fun, especially in the pet shop, where I got to scare some guinea-pigs! I love guinea-pig noises... *oing!* (yes yes, I know it's not really 'oing' but that's the closest I can write it). And we saw some lizardy-things too, and a puppy that looked more like a big rodent or an ickle bear cub than a puppy that got bought while we were there. And there was an orange canary! So that was good. And Sath bought the collar she was looking for, although it didn't quite fit so we stood in the middle of Chelmsford and hacked another hole out of it with a craft knife she keeps in her pencilcase (after she'd wandered through the streets holding said knife in her teeth for a bit), and fitted it on her. It looked quite cool, really - very Sath. We then scared some poor shop assistant by looking for long bandages without saying what they were for, but we couldn't find precisely what we were looking for there. We tried on some silly sunglasses, then I had to go get the train home. On the train it was really cool too, I sat next to a really quiet person from my youthgroup who I get on quite well with when I can actually get her to talk and chatted all the way home, then my dad gave her a lift home when we got to the station. So despite being tired, it's been quite a good day.

  • Ooo! orange canaries!

  • It's been too long since I heard a guineapig noise.

  • I doubt the shop assistant would have been any the less scared if she had known what the bandages were for.

  • Sath in a dog collar? Is it part of the Sath New Look?

  • well done on getting the chance to talk to the youthgroup person. let's hope you can get her to talk again a little more easily now.
