It transpires that I have a hole in my tooth that previously had a 'harmless' crack in it, and so I am having a filling in it on Monday.

NHS Dentists now have this weird pricing scheme where check-ups and cleaning and suchlike is 15.90, basic treatment like a filling is 43.50, and more complicated treatment is a hundred and something pounds with extra bonus pence. The unnecessary degree of precision in the prices screams 'false precision in estimates' to me...

I also went to Maelstrom. It would have been more fantastic had I managed to drink more than two litres of water on Saturday. This was probably the cause of feeling a bit flat and dissociated all event (i.e. I was me, doing what I thought Tourmaline would do, rather than Tourmaline, most of the event - I guess this is actually *less* 'dissociated' from my actual self than I like to be at LARP events!). Tourmaline was pretty happy with the progress I made towards his goals, though.

Now all I have to do is somehow get back into sorting out the RefWiki before we need it for planning next academic year's Treasure Trap events...

Woah, it sounds like for advanced treatment I'm better off going private! I've been offered a root canal and porcelain filling for £40 to £60, and basic fillings at my place are around £40. Don't know what the NHS lot are playing at there!

Good Lord! Remind me never to get toothache up your way. I paid £30 for an initial check-up! Clearly it pays to shop around a bit.

NHS dentistry is really shamefully broken.
