Today I learnt that current Internet applications are amazingly resilient to me Disconnecting The Internet, while trying to diagnose problems with a java applet. Unfortunately I failed to have a shower due to the lack of obvious towels. I did write a few more words of dissertation, though.

At 16 minutes, ICQ and AIM finally noticed that they were disconnected, swiftly followed by MSN. The web applet I was actually testing also apparently noticed on the server side after 16 minutes, although it hadn't on the client side until I got bored after 20 minutes and turned the Internet back on.

Today we mostly failed to buy a car. My dissertation is still at under 2k words, and my brief surge of energy towards having a shower was thwarted by not being able to find my towel.

I do not know where my towel is. Things are not looking up.
