The Downside Of Cars

My father believes my car may be slightly ailing (as do most of the people who've been forced to travel in it lately). Apparently I should 'get it looked at'. However, I have no idea how to go about doing so, for a reasonable price, in Cambridge. I attempted to look into it via Google but the wealth of conflicting information bewildered me, and everyone only seems to be interested in doing full service packages which I don't think is the right thing (and is definitely expensive). I know that at least one of you has a car in Cambridge; any advice?

Friend of mine local to there uses a garage in Willingham called Foreman's Garage. Yell.co.uk gives the phone number as being 01954 260516, and multimap puts them here

He says they're good.

Dont know if that's any help to you

We usually take ours to the Vauxhall dealer across the road from us, it being a Vauxhall Vectra. Not particularly cheap, but quality work as a rule.

Autokare on Ditton Walk have been recommended to me frequently. I'd phone them up and tell them what seems to be wrong, perhaps they can tell you whether to get a full service or just something replaced. I've also used ATS on Histon Road for my MoT and was very pleased with them; less so with the repair I got done at Autokare, where they actually didn't look at the thing I told them was wrong (pretty serious; oil leak) until I turned up to pick the "fixed" car up. D'oh. There's also a little garage quite near Newmarket Road Tescos which my breakdown company took me to, I can try and ferret out their details.

We use Haywards Garage, on Huntingdon Rd near Girton corner.

If it's a newish car, then the appropriate dealership might be a good bet.

For a lot of things like this cam misc are very good. They seem to recommend / unrecommend a few garages.

I get mine done at Cambridge vehicle services just off Newmarket Road.
