My poor dying computer

Grr. I just met another site I really want to get to, and I can't. Why? Because I broke Content Advisor, and it insists I can't see it because it's rated as having 'Mild Expletives'. Any time I try and use Word (even on its own just after a reboot) the poor thing feels like it's swimming through treacle, and it's just getting *silly*. Aivas runs a lot faster even tho it's got a less-good processer and has to wait for the HD to whirr up again every now and then. What this box *really* needs is a complete reformat and everything reinstalled... but that would just be *so* much work, and I'm not sure I can face it... then again, this is just getting *so* annoying.

Come the revolution, if you can get yourself an X server running on your machine you'll be able to run mozilla on pinkstuff.

Actually, do you have enough disk space to try installing the new Mozilla release? I haven't tried 0.9.1 but I've heard it's a lot faster than 0.9.

You can have both Mozilla and IE happily co-existing on the system, and if you just leave Mozilla so that you have to go via the menus and they use IE from a shortcut it'll not adversely affect them or you.

Mind you, might be easier to reinstall IE or ask your parents to sort it out (if they have some sort of uber-password?)

starnet x-win32 is my favourite xserver for windows. not free, but it's the best imo. however, running mozilla over any kind of modem or even isdn is really going to be painfully slow. it'll take minutes for a full redraw. :/
