Mm, broken software.

GAIM has stopped talking to Yahoo (mm, tasty segfaults), and the python packages continue to not get along. Lovely. I especially love the way that GAIM's segfault error message tells you to *IM* someone about it. Uhm, if I can't use GAIM, then... (well, obviously I can, as it's just Yahoo, but supposing I couldn't?)

In fact, even weirder, it only crashes to Yahoo *when Yahoo is autoconnected at startup*. Now, if I can get this backtrace thing working, without getting a *different* crash due to reconnecting too often... (which helpfully wipes the backtrace out, but seems to be symptomatic of the same problem)

I should be washing my hair / doing work, but feh.

GAIM segfaults for me when I try to invite people to a multi-person chat window, AND there's a glitch that disallows me to actually use the tabs for tabbed viewing.

so basically, it seems to have quite a few Issues.

You're allowed to move core dumps around, you know. Personal GAIM irritations: insists on asking me if I want to send authorization requests to people *every time* I log in, randomly disconnects, and insists (unless killed outright) on trying to reconnect. Strangely, though, it hasn't segfaulted on me yet.

The problem is clearly that you're not using Windows.

Resistance is futile, you know.
