Experiments without FB

I am experimenting with avoiding FB this week because there's some kind of boycott on and also I wanted to experiment with it. I've replaced where the app goes on my homepage with a link to my DW reading page.

Does anyone have a good solution for 'keeping your place' in the DW friends feed? A problem I keep having is that my phone hates keeping pages open, reloads the page, and loses my place, and of course if I use the home screen link it just goes back to the top rather than where I left off.

No longer being a teenager I can't just use my previous solution of obsessively keeping up with the feed so I've always read everything :).

No. I'm having a similar experience. I don't remember it being a problem back in t'day, but that may be because there was more content going up. Hmmm.

For paid accounts there's "browse by day", which is what I do, but... see requirement! It at least means you don't get entirely lost forever.

I'm afraid my desktop browser seems to remember roughly most of the time (and/or I have a rough idea where I was)...

Well, hardly anyone I follow on here updates so I can very much remember where I was on my feed and read everything. I suppose the rest is having it paginated rather than eternally scrolling?

I keep up with reading everything on my default filter, using filters as needed for the stuff I don't fully keep up with.

I have my reading list divided into several filters, different people in each one. I have a link to each filter on my browser homepage, and usually browse each link/filter one at a time. Usually there's at most a few new posts in each filter, so it's not hard to find where I left off on each one.

My current technique is:

Do not have many friends - and thus scrolling back is easier. This is not planned and possibly not sustainable. Also likely unhelpful. I will stop here

How did the avoiding-Facebook experiment go?

My DW feed is very quiet so...yeah, I can just read until I get to the last entry I remember reading.
