(no subject)
Looking through the LJ icons, I do hate the way that almost all of the pictures for 'high' have someone smoking something, as if you can't just get high on, I don't know, life or something. Quite a few have hearts and stuff on some of the happy emotions other than 'loved', as if romantic stuff was the only way to achieve these states.
Anyway, I changed my icon set, 'cos I thought these ickle lizardy things were sweet...
In other news, last night I went to college to start my Law AS. The subject matter looks quite interesting, and the class are a massive spread of ages - I'm the youngest, the next youngest is someone doing a 'gap year' in the middle of a Psychology degree, then there's a couple of mothers with smallish kids, a couple of women whose families have grown up, one man who wants to go on to do a Law degree at APU, and one old lady who's doing a course in Social Sciences... an interesting group, some of which choose an A-level a year to study, apparently.
The last part of my school day was the high point of my day - this cyber-cafe Community Service project. There were only 5 old people there, but they were all really appreciative and I was the most patient one there with them - even Mrs Griffiths snatched the mouse from one of them at one point, but I just gave the person a quick lesson on mouse usage (he was holding it the wrong way and didn't realise you could lift it up to move it back without the cursor moving, so was running out of mousemat space 'cos the mousemats aren't big enough). So that was really cool.
Before that, I'd been a bit easily stressed and snappy - couldn't multitask properly, had to actually concentrate on stuff, so when ppl talked to me and I was doing work I got a bit snappish.
Anyway, gotta disappear now... maybe I'll throw down stuff about the rest of the day later.
